About This Course

Conveners are the connectors of their communities. Those who wish to preserve and promote history must know how to bring people together for a common purpose. This course will provide understanding of the role of conveners as well as an overview and deeper look at collective impact models for change. Ultimately, no public history organization has the capacity to enact change alone, and convening partners and community will be the difference between success and failure for many.

Surrogate Convener

I moved to another city, but over the years I met a woman who came from a totally different socioeconomic status than myself. This course made me realize, through, preservation, how much we had in common and we are now allies.
